While Sharia is considered as the heart of the jurisprudence in Saudi Arabia, the legal system is very much a civil law system codified in Law of Civil Procedures through 242 articles (Royal Decree No. M/1, Dated 22/1/1435H). The Saudi’s Law of Civil Procedures is adopted to govern the country in a civil matter and the way in which civil cases are pled through the courts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
